djpretzel Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Music 4 Games Posts Exclusive Advance Review of OC ReMix FFVII Album For Immediate Release September 10th, 2007 Contact: David W. Lloyd, dlloyd@ocremix.org Today Music 4 Games (http://www.music4games.net), the premier resource for news and reviews about Video Game Music, posted an exclusive advance review of the upcoming OverClocked ReMix album, Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream. The review is available at http://www.music4games.net/Review_Display.aspx?id=97. This review marks the first time a freely available, fan-made album of game arrangements has been evaluated alongside commercial video game soundtracks on the site. Reviewer Jayson Napolitano writes that it "doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to arrangement albums," calling Voices of the Lifestream "one of the most impressive and encompassing listening experiences in the world of video game music." More information about the album, which will be released freely online this Friday, September 14th, can be found at http://ff7.ocremix.org. Hundreds of free game music arrangements and a thriving community of game music fans can be found at OverClocked ReMix's Web site, www.ocremix.org. Quote

Jaybell Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 All this did was get me even more hyped up for this project! Not that that's a bad thing... Quote
Antipode Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Man, this is great, but why didn't some of the others get this kind of coverage? Quote
zircon Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Well... this is the biggest OCR project ever, arranging Final Fantasy for the first time, and specifically arranging the most popular of all FF games. Additionally I've been trying every step of the way to make this the most professional release possible: a very high standard of quality for all the remixes, uniform bios + photos from all mixers, etc. Perhaps most importantly, since the last OCR project release we've become more of a part of the VGM community at large. We have more contacts and clout now than we did before. In short, people take us more seriously Quote
Miletus Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 We are going to have to digg the shit out of this project on friday Quote

The Legendary Zoltan Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Yeah, I'm over here with the Saturday crew too. I just know that Nobuo himself is gonna contact OCR and djpretzel and Zircon are both gonna get to meet him. Those lucky sons of bitches! Can't wait to see a thread about that. Quote
herograw Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 The article makes it sound as though Bound Together was specifically an ocremix project, which is unfortunate. Anywho, this is gonna be huge. Quote

Actually, Geoffrey Taucer already got to meet Nobuo once in a chance run-in at a Chicago airport (I'm guessing O'Hare International).
