I can't believe that this is the first remix posted by Lampje4life, but great to see there's finally one on the site.  Keep submitting them, Yannic!!

I can't believe how good the acoustic guitar sounds on the "after" FF6 mix. I can like, HEAR the timbre of the wood. Bird's eye maple, right?

This is great news. My problem with making jazz has always been the mixing.

BRAND NEW for ARTISTS *and* LISTENERS:
    Automatic Mixing & Mastering Service!

OverClocked ReMix is proud to announce our latest feature: automated mixing & mastering of all remixes on the site, and any future submissions as well! Using the latest advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and following on the foundation of services like LANDR, we've developed an algorithm that addresses volume, noise, and dynamics for a refined listening experience!
For listeners, this means a more consistent experience when listening to multiple mixes in a playlist, and enjoying pristine, high-fidelity audio for EVERY track!
For artists, it means never having to worry about mixing & mastering ANYTHING you submit to OCR - we'll do the work for you!
    How does it work??
The GRO/INR algorithm has two essential components/phases:
Gain Redistribution & Optimization - ensures that levels are consistent from mix to mix without compromising dynamic contrast. Intelligent Noise Reduction - eliminates hum, hiss, and other artifacts that can harm recordings. Fine... but what does it SOUND like??
We believe the enhanced listening experience of GRO/INR automated mastering speaks for itself, so we've prepared several examples highlighting its flexibility & power. Specifically:
GRO/INR is designed to work with ANY music genre! From the Bohemian Rhapsody-inspired "Impresario" to the pulsing EDM of "Chemixtrixx," GRO/INR has you covered. Even works on jazz!™ Don't believe your ears? Hear what the experts are saying:
We've gathered some testimonials from early adopters & beta testers:

I'm unfamiliar with the original, but I'm digging this so hard. That lower octave lead is like the halfway point between the shimmering high stuff and the noisier sounds (which have the perfect amount of grit, to my ears), and it blends in so well; it almost keeps the whole mix glued together. Great sound and panning on the kettle toms as well!

djpretzel reacted to Tex in OC ReMixer DJ Redlight passed away
It's with profound sadness that I announce the passing of DJ Redlight (Ashley Carr) on October 26th of 2016. He was from Australia and only 30 at the time. I was recently informed of this news after stumbling across his Facebook Artist Page. Here's an excerpt written by a personal friend:
Although I never spoke to him, I do have warm memories of burning CDs with a couple of his remixes in.
    .
Both were also used in Extra Credits episodes here and there.
His existing work is already formidable enough to make him a relevant name in the world of fan game music communities. Thank you for being a part of my early years at OCR, Ash.

Synthwave is one of those genres I'd never heard of until recently but thanks to Bandcamp, it's now one of my fave genres of music in general (not just specifically electronic music). This song makes me feel like I'm cruising through the neon-colored streets of the 80s in my Delorean, Ready Player One-style!

I love this, might be my favorite track on the whole album (which is excellent all the way through).

It reminds me of "A Real Hero" by College (feat. Electric Youth), from the movie Drive. It's just such a strong result of an obviously clear vision.

People know I really love Kingdom Hearts and its music. I think you did justice to the famous intro theme. Also like how atmospheric this sounds but it doesn't leave the main melody (which is quite simple at its core).

Thanks to all artists for being patient with us & trusting @prophetik music's leadership on release scheduling; we took a bit longer, yes, but the music & presentation did benefit. Very proud of this release; Arcadia Legends was amazing & you've followed it up with something amazing, and kicked off 2019 in Q1 in a *great* way.
Special shout out to @Jorito for musical AND code contributions, too, as he provided a very complete website which we only tweaked minimally... really helped. I wanted to somehow animate the caustics that were added, but ran out of time for proper implementation.
Credit to all, but extra tip of the hat to Brad for effective coordination & responsible/thoughtful direction... as with DFW & our previous album, I feel like communication was always effective & deliberation productive.
I didn't play Chrono Cross, but I've known & loved its soundtrack over the years, often through mixes featured on the site. Now I love it even more; there's an organic, passionate vein that flows through Chronopolis, but with individual tracks still distinguishing themselves stylistically & through genre. It feels diverse in form, but unified in function, and that's something I personally enjoy in an arrangement album, because it's something I *also* enjoy about many game soundtracks themselves. There are moments of awe, moments of wonder, moments of beauty, moments of joy... with each emotion expressed in a fashion that serves it quite well. Excellent stuff!

Thanks for the feedback!  I guess the augmented fifth was an unconventional choice there, but I wanted to convey a sense of “airy wonderment”.  Maybe could have foreshadowed it a bit to make it less of a surprise.
    Hope you’re doing well.

Game:  Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 (fuck yeah!)
source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOQ2MZ9QiYo     I was going through my itunes playlist and saw that this song had 134 plays, and I hadn't even considered remixing it. Well, time to fix that!    The original is about as perfect of a trance song can get, so I would need to take a left turn (while drifting hard, obviously) on the arrangement. Adding a metal edge and keeping the trance elements was a really fun revelation for me, meaning I could have a bunch of powerful and precise polyrhythms under the saws and pads, and it was a perfect match. Add in some trance-style breakdowns, a few solos, and an original section to compliment the already great song, and we are off to the races! In my pit crew was the ever-excellent Nabeel Ansari, who helped me tremendously in getting the exact drum sound I was looking for. I couldn't have gotten across the finish line without him!     More car-puns.

If I wrote the soundtrack of a traditional JRPG, the airship theme might sound like this.  What if there's no airship?  Of course there's an airship.
