  1. Fixed. Pokemon's only difficult when you go against unknown Pokemon, so you don't know what to bring to the battle or what to lead with.
  2. That wasn't a fan-translation. It was the official translation by NOA for an NES release. The NES release never came to be, though, so it was shelved, until somebody got the prototype cart at an auction, and the ROM was dumped. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_%28video_game%29 Anyway. If my roommate (who owns our Wii) doesn't get Mother 2, I will. One of the greatest games ever. It's the only game that I recall getting addicted to, where it affected my life so much that my mom told me I couldn't play it anymore. That didn't bother me too much, because I was stuck in the future as a robot, and was underleveled. Also, I couldn't figure out how to beat Gigyas, even with the strategy guide. :( In short, Earthbound stinks.
  3. I got LeafGreen sometime last December. My biggest disappointment is that they didn't just open up the Johto region at the end of the main game. They could have done it in the same vein that Gold/Silver did, where there wasn't much story to speak of, but you could run through and beat all the Gyms and get a second set of Badges. That would have also made it more natural to catch all the Johto region Pokemon as well, not to mention it would have been so much more interesting than the whole Islands deal anyway.
  4. Can someone explain exactly what the ability "Technician" does? Apparently "the power of the Pokemon's weaker moves are increased", but what exactly is considered a "weaker move", and how much does it increase it by?
  5. I was in the high 40s when I posted yesterday. To level them up, I ended up fighting the Rich Kid over and over again, just east of Lake Valor, I think. Whichever one has the hotel and stuff. With the Amulet Coin, it netted me a lot of cash, and it wasn't hard to stomp his Luxio over and over. Once I got Rapidash up to 50 or so, I started fighting the Elite Four to level up. I died once at the Psychic dude, but the second time I made it all the way to Cynthia's team. She stomped me, but then I realized that I had finally seen all 150 of the Sinnoh Pokemon, so I got Pal Park unlocked, and then migrated my team from LeafGreen. My level 64 Charizard wiped the floor with most of the League. Now I need to start making my real team..
  6. Hmm. You know what's annoying as hell? Grinding the levels of my Pokemans so that I can actually put a dent in the Elite Four. What's the easiest way to level your dudes up so that you can beat the Elite Four and get to the parts of the game that are actually fun? (Such as being able to use the Pokemon I caught in Leaf Green.) EDIT: Or does someone want to trade me a high level Pokemon they don't care about so I can breeze through it myself? ;-D
  7. So I finished the manga today. I'd probably have enjoyed keeping track of all the elaborate schemes put up by Light and you-know-who, but waiting two months between releases made it hard to keep up with.
  8. I tried playing this version of Pac-Man on the Wii, using the zoom function. I thought I was soooo clever. And then I realized that there are no arrow keys on the Wii. Sad day!
  9. More like a Super Mario RPG moment. We're mixing genres, not licenses. That being said, still weird. It can't be any worse than the non-Sonic-Rush platformers of late, though.
  10. http://www.nintendoshortcuts.com/launch/index.jsp?id=12 I'd watch that movie. Or play that game, if Squeenix happened to make another Super Mario RPG with a storyline like that. Also, did I happen to spy Mustin's name as the music composer of that film?
  11. I might be interested in this, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get to the internet reliably during that week, due to going on vacation with the parents for the 4th. What emulator do you guys use for this internet play stuff?
  12. I minored in trombone for a while. Then I realized that I hate practicing my horn. So now I'm just concentrating on my mathematics, so there's no real work involved.
  13. So I've been playing Leaf Green a little bit. That is to say, I've logged about 60 hours on it thus far. I've decided that I want to get Diamond/Pearl and the Wii PKMN whenever it comes out. The reason is, is that I want to start battling on the internet. And since I don't really care about being the Best Pokemon Master Evar, I've decided that I will only use the first 150 Pokemon from the National Pokedex. That is, I'm gonna try to beat all the little sixth graders on WiiConnect24, using the Pokemon I played with when I was in sixth grade. The trick is, I need to come up with the best team possible to compete in the fourth-generation. So with the research I've done since I've started playing again, I figure I should breed new Pokemans so that I get all the proper Egg Moves and max out the stats all the right way. But the trick is. What should my team be? I've decided that I really like Magneton, since it gives me a Steel-type to work with. Also, I want to avoid the legendaries, because that's no fun. Also also, should I breed and train these guys in Leaf Green and then transfer them to the Pal Park thing or whatever, or do it all in Diamond/Pearl? Aaanyway. Advice from those of you who know more about all of this than I do right now would be appreciated. Thankya.
  14. Any of you guys who use the Audio application on Facebook can pimp Beatdrop's winning entry by going here and adding the song to your profile. http://apps.facebook.com/audio/file?id=189563
  15. Every time I see this thread I think that "Whatchya Gonna Do?" is going to be the title for the third game.
  16. All I can say is, at least they minimized the overt references to the first movie. Geez, that's about all the second movie was to me - they couldn't go five minutes without referencing some character or line from the Curse of the Black Pearl.
  17. June is Level 1 Month? Sigs from the first levels of video games, 'course.
  18. Disproven by Dragon Ball Z.
  19. Peter can control his powers - turn them on and off. I bet he never healed it because he wanted it as a reminder of the deaths he caused. Or, y'know, plot hole. Whichever.
  20. What rule did he break? There are rules/laws against simulating public schools in video games?
  21. Any Initial D soundtrack. Perfect music to run to.
  22. I just remembered that there already kind of is an official DDR song with a medley of Dracula themes. Here's a copy I found on some simfile site. http://www.auburn.edu/~clontsc/akum.mp3 However, the similarities are scarce. In fact, NoppZ's is much better.
