Abadoss
Made some changes; still trying to fix the links themselves, but the text was reduced down to language codes, and I added a meta tag that I *think* has fixed the issue with the dropdowns hiding the links - can you confirm, Mr. Keyn? I'm on my own computer now. And I confirm: the issue is fixed.
K.B.
Big ole' gap between the first and second album on http://ocremix.org/info/Albums. Encountered on both Firefox and IE. Screenshot: http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo161/kewlguy715/albumgap.jpg Different issue: missing a source on http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01909/. The source credited is correct, but - per the judges' thread and my own ear (by checking the source) - the second one is missing: Those Chosen By The Planet. Another incorrect source: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01086/. Per Miku himself (and again by me, checking the source), the correct source is Mabe Village. As I find these, should I post them here? I ask because these aren't exactly design questions/issues. Is there a more appropriate thread? I couldn't find one offhand; I'd be happy to create one if desired. And yes, I plan on finding more of these (should they exist) because I re-title every remix to include the source tunes. Edited November 30, 2009 by K.B. Dafydd
Big ole' gap between the first and second album on http://ocremix.org/info/Albums. Encountered on both Firefox and IE. Got it too. The distance between the rest of them is a little big too, I think, as is the distance between the album titles and their images, which is probably a result of removing the sidebar, enabling the frame to cover nearly the whole screen. Gollgagh
Mirror folder structure was changed dramatically; also working on renaming/reorganizing chips. This should be fixed in 48 hours. hm, all of the chips are still 404'ing not to rush you or anything
DragonAvenger
For me in Firefox all of the mascot's heads are being cut off by the Log In button. (Obviously a pre-log-in issue) Anyone else seeing that?
djpretzel
hm, all of the chips are still 404'ingnot to rush you or anything Yeah, that 48hrs turned into MUCH longer. Should be fixed; please see http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26630. I know IE 8 is pretty much the devil, but I thought I'd let you know about a bug. I went to this page, http://www.ocremix.org/game/secret-of-monkey-island-dos/, and noticed that there were some thumbnails of screenshots to click on. I thought that was a cool idea, by the way. So, I clicked on it and got... nothing. The lights dimmed, but nothing came up. Here's a screenshot:http://www.abadoss.net/images/ocr-error_-_6-16-09.png Quoi? Yeah, that was an issue with the lightbox we were using, called shadowbox. The author went all commercial and changed the license, so I've been wanting to move off. Found a good alternative that uses jquery - works in IE8 now, at least for me, though it still looks better in FF35/Chrome/Opera. See http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26630 for more. It's working well. Of course, there's now another interesting problem. In IE 8, the quick reply button is borken. It's going to reply with quote... Poke'G
I know its been addressed many times, but I'll ask anyway. Can we please have the alphabet back at the top of the homepage? Its a pain in the ass to find the particular remixes/remixers I'm looking for. I have to agree with this. I remember DJ Pretz saying it was a clutter issue, or something along those lines and to give the new layout a shot. After a while, the lack of alphabet shortcuts really just makes navigating all games together tedious. The search bar is a good substitute only if someone already has a specific game in mind. Is there anyway you can bring it back, maybe as a drop down menu or something? There's a drop down menu up there already, but users have no idea where in the list of games each page will end up, making the feature kind of pointless. (Obviously a pre-log-in issue)Anyone else seeing that? I'm getting it in IE8, also.. And after you do log-in, the Private Message notification(specifically "total") gets in the way but not nearly as bad as the Log In button. prophetik music
i was looking at the ocr albums page today and discovered this link: deus ex. dunno why that's there. i figured it's a glitch. The Coop
Wouldn't that be more along the lines of "OverCocked Remix" appearing somewhere?
prophetik music
i fixed the spelling =) ilpo's mega man album doesn't even have a homepage listed, and there are others that surprised me as they aren't really ocr albums, just albums by ocr members. but then there was reserve tank, and i had forgotten about that, and i downloaded it and enjoyed it today. it was good. djpretzel
We're playing around with having data for non-OCR albums where relevant; since a lot of mixes that get submitted are from albums, etc., it makes sense to be able to contextually display related albums. Deus Ex was added back when we interviewed Mr. Brandon, just for testing purposes, mostly.
Otakatt
I was talking to someone about an idea of mine and they directed me to this thread so I suppose I'll put it down as a suggestion. ^^ There are plenty of people who would love to help with site projects who can't make music in any way shape or form. However, site projects are sometimes rather big so it requires more than just music. There's a matter of forum/web hosting, art, coding (html, css, etc), flash, etc. And there are people who could (and would!) help with these things who don't necessarily have musical talent. So I think if there was a way for people who have the means to volunteer to help out with non-musical aspects of projects and put that out there, that'd be cool. Be that in a way like a field in profiles (kinda like the collaboration status?) or even just a thread (like that Sale/Want one Prophet has) where people post and someone keeps it updated. I dunno the best way, but it seems like it'd be cool if it could be pulled off.

At our MAGFest panel, we mentioned that we want to get more volunteers to do work for the site. We always could have used volunteers for something or other, but it's been difficult to organize. A system like you describe is a step in the right direction.
