  1. An update: the staff from BadAss 3 is back for this album! In other words: welcome back Chernabogue (assistant director) and timaeus222 (production feedback assistant & album mastering)!

  2. I'll sign up for Alucard (and mix dracula's castle with tragic prince), and Death (Heart of Fire)!

  3. Count me in for this project! I'll decide in the next few days one of the character themes and I'll post here. I really want to make a Mexican-inspired track (Not because I'm from Latin America, no no no) (?)

  6. Dude, include some "Evil's Symphonic Poem" in it, it'll be so much better (than just another HoF remix)

  7. Victory in the Soma Bracket, Round 2 goes to Wildfire! Magnetic Ether and Supercoolmike move into the Dracula bracket. Remixes for the Simon Bracket, Round 2 and the Dracula Bracket, Round 1 are up! Sadly, we got only 2 entries for the former and 3 for the latter, but it's enough for a vote. Voting threads will go up shortly.

  8. @Chris Porter Music, @shadowpsyc, @Brandon Strader - can you give it another go? Permissions were configured on the FF8 forum itself, but not on the parent forum, which I believe was the issue.

  9. Headroom is one dimensional. A signal (represented as samples in time) is a linear combination of waves its component frequencies with their respective amplitudes. An assortment of frequencies at certain amplitudes may not *necessarily* reduce headroom at other places, but they certainly can. If a 500 Hz sine and 1000 Hz sine start at the same phase and the 500 Hz sine hits the 0 dB ceiling, you can bet they will constructively add and thus clip at various points in the waveform. It's just math.

  10. I also get that and I have no space, so NOT having a space in your username is also a possible cause

  11. Any protagonist which has hero qualities (so Magus doesn't count for instance) and his or her own theme would count. BadAss was also focused on mini-bosses and sub-bosses (Gilgamesh and Slash, to name two) EDIT: We can always discuss cases which are in the 'grey area'

  12. Also, perhaps if you posted in threads other than ones you yourself created once in a while, people would be more apt to reply....

  14. Anyone remember back when they changed the music between the FFVIII demo version and final version due to it supposedly sounding too much like the theme from The Rock?

  17. Sounds like you have it on the auto snapshot. It should say auto at the top of the browser, click on that and pick a different snapshot

  18. Its a nice recreation but it feels a little sparse. I know you are going for a minimal vibe but maybe you could take more creative license?

  19. Normally I don't like voice clips in songs, especially this many. Usually they're really hard to make out, too. But this is genius, and well-balanced. I was grinning broadly when it got to "With the lemons." Really catchy, too; an unexpected but extremely welcome departure for Chimpz.

  22. Can I take the following piece of music Eric Lecarde: Iron-Blue Intention It is very flexible musically and I could write a breakdown to it, it's the track I could make sound best.

  23. My confession: I had 1 Castlevania game growing up, and it was quite late -- Lament of Innocence on PS2. As a result, I'd like to get that.

  24. It's nice to see this has gained some steam! Terranigma really deserves a good tribute as it has an amazing soundtrack. I don't want to commit myself to anything yet since my remixing schedule has been pretty bad lately but I wish you luck. I do feel there should be a medley of resurrection themes somewhere in the album though.

  25. I just thought of a really sick idea for Trevor Belmont vaguely in the style of Hulk Hogan's theme with cheesy 80's guitar riffs. Probably wouldn't have much time to get a WIP together in the next month or two though because I'm pretty overcommitted to other OCR albums. Definitely interested in collaborating though I'm primarily an electric guitar player, but can also lay down some bass. Got some DoD entries on my Soundcloud (check my sig) if you're interested. I mostly do metal stuff and I'm pretty n00b when it comes to mixing/production. Most relevant to the type of music I'd expect on this soundtrack though would be this DoD entry I collaborated on from last month, which is super cheesy synth/J-Fusion sounding stuff...actually the exact kind of cheesily epic tune I'd expect for a professional wrestler's theme. Seriously this is a pretty genius idea. Love the name "CastleMania"

  27. Aside from being fun and upbeat, the sounds are clear like touching glass or skipping on water. Very peaceful, especially after mid-way.
