  3. Hey folks, long time no speak! Sorry for not being in touch, I’ve become useless at that, and no mistake. Takes two minutes to write something… Wonderfully though, Trism & Jorito have been in charge; and to be fair, between them and you lot, this album’s turned out far better than it could have with me at the helm. I have been squirrelling away on the art side, though, and am pleased to say the artwork for the album is now finally done. You can see it here (sorry, resizing seems to be an issue): I genuinely hope y’all like it, please let me know what you think. your involvement and perseverance on this project has brought it this far despite me, and I thank you all. Your opinions are valued. I’ve also been working on the assets for the promo site and handed them over to Jorito so he can do some cssourcery to showcase your sounds. We’re nearly over the line folks. Thanks once again for not bailing on the project, you're breathtaking!

  4. Heavenly! It doesn't stray much from the original song but that's not really a bad thing for a song this good

  5. Wow, I think this acoustic-only version is a really rich, self-contained arrangement in it's own right. The additional elements of the arrangement compliment the core, most certainly, but you've really got a great base to work with here. I'mma gonna hold on to this other version for my own listening purposes, too, since there really is a different tone to it than the posted ReMix. Not better, not worse, just... different. It's definitely difficult to hear some of the more subtle guitar textures in the posted version than it is in this unplugged version, which in some ways is a shame. Oh yeah, I like the remix, too - the overall atmosphere is almost heavenly, as the sound design compliments the lightness of the guitar work under it. The sounds are relatively basic, relying on what seem like preset pads and such, but I'd be damned if I said they weren't effective for the overall arrangement. Great stuff, here.

  6. Upbeat, cheery, warm, relaxing and energising. The more you listen, the more you admire the charisma of it all. Love it..

  7. The world can never have enough remixes of this awesome song...and this is one of the awesomest! Love the acoustic mellowness of it

  8. I remember listening to this track in the workshop as well, yep. So glad to see it on the front page It's really my new favorite take on a classic tune. The acoustic guitar is especially gorgeous, and the juicy laid-back funky stuff @3:08 is very nice too - gives me creeps every time, in a good way, of course. Love your job here

  9. I knew this one would get in, and I'm glad it did. Great job, @Mordi! Loving the soundscape.

  10. Cool mix! I love the mixture of vibes here. I love it when an old standby gets a new and unique treatment. Definitely a solid arrangement of my second-favorite DKC2 source (I like Forest Interlude ever so slightly more than Stickerbrush Symphony; it's super-close). Nice Work.

  11. Great mix! I dont get tired of Aquatic Ambiance as a track that gets remixed. This is definitely in my top two for this particular song so far. Very well done and excellent job putting it together.

  12. There are a lot of Aquatic Ambience mixes, sure, but this one stands out for me, because it manages to keep the feeling of ambience from the original. The intro is very long, almost quarter of the whole thing, but it's perfect for the mellow, relaxing mood of this mix. And once this track picks up, it becomes even better. Even the guitar doesn't spoil the idle atmosphere here. Also, gotta love that tides + ivories break ot 5:08. This work is sooo sweeeet ans sooo dreamy. Love it.

  13. Ah, man, so slick and smooth like a nice shiny stone. And that electric guitar fits in so well as a driver to the main watery melody, helping things move along. For a downbeat, chill ReMix, this manages to keep a lot of the musical arrangement in the forefront and keep things interesting, which is cool and what I like to see from more easy-going ReMixes. Good job, you two.

  16. Though this is O-Clocked's 8th ReMix of Aquatic Ambience, I knew somehow this would stand out amonst the other seven. I wish I would've given this a listen on day one.

  17. Another Aquatic Ambience?? Yeeah! One of my favorite tracks and very well done! Love the mood at 1:40. From there is the differential. Hope to listen more of your mixes soon!

  18. This is superlative. I don't think I properly appreciated just how timeless and classic this mix was until I read DJP's glowing writeup, and I must have listened to this at least a dozen times before that. However, after listening with a fresh perspective, I realized just how seamlessly Mordi has blended the source tune with his own original writing, and how absolutely flawless the production is... I'm really glad I've come around to love this as much as I do now Excellent job guys.

  20. What I love so much about this mix is that it is fresh; and thats not to take credit away from any other remix of this source on the site. Especially with this mix being the source material that it is, and there being countless mixes of this song all across the internet. Yet with the selection and usage of samples, the mixing, it all ushers in a new approach to this specific source. I am definitely looking foward to more of your mixes! Now to the download page.

  21. Wow... just wow. My favorite two mixes on the site are now both from the same source (Beneath the Surface being the other one). VERY chill this, you can just close your eyes and let yourself be taken away by the sea and song

  23. Did I just listen to the quintessential Aquatic mix?

  24. I am a huge fan of the source to the point that I am very picky about remixes of it. I admit I was a little skeptical at first but once the cross-panned bit came in I started to warm up to it. But holy frig when that guitar and quarter note synth bass line hit I was totally sold. This mix is full of so many emotions. Even the watery ending was fitting instead of just another water ending to a water level song. May this be the first of many submissions!

  26. This would be top-tier even without the live guitar, but with it... holy cow! A great debut, and I second DJP's call for some C64 ReMixes!

  27. Very nice, to be sure! The only thing I missed a was a little more modulation on the longer guitar notes.

  28. Very, very smooth. Not only does this mix closely stay true to its atmospheric roots, but when the guitar comes in... It's obvious that there was a lot of courage involved to make such a strong pronunciation of the melody out of such a minimalistic song, but it works. Definite download, for sure.

  30. Wow, this is beautiful. I recall hearing Mordi's remix of "Forest Interlude" on the work in progress forums and really liking what I heard. This mix, doesn't disappoint. Flowing pads, smooth leads, and it's a remix of one of my favorite tunes. This is great work, and I look forward to hearing more from you on here man.
