  1. Sup dudes and dudettes! I've just submitted my most recent work, a metal cover/remix of Ruby Illusions in Sonic Mania. Would love to hear what you guys think! Mucho Love <3
  2. So a friend of mine challenged me to remix this theme in the Goa / Psy Trance style. Well, I like a challenge. So, here is my first attempt at Goa Trance. Looking for feedback on the style, sound, eqing, everything. I'm new to this genre (and this site), so let me have it. Thanks! Forgot to add that... UPDATE: Link updated. See post for more info. UPDATE 2: Did a lot of fleshing out and some EQing. UPDATE 3: Added some more goodies and did a final master. I feel it's ready for submission. UPDATE 4: Did a complete redo of the mixing. I had to change some instruments to make things blend well. UPDATE 5: Fixed some stuff (the bassline most noticeably)and did another mastering attempt. I think it's ready to submit. FINAL UPDATE: Alright, so I did a final master and sent it off to be judged. Phew, I hope they enjoy it!
  3. Hey guys, how's it going? My first post here. I have a remix from one of my favorite games, Link's Awakening. This one was a lot of fun to remix. Once it took off, it pretty much made itself, like I was both the driver and the passenger. I’m looking to see if I can get a second opinion on where I can improve. Particularly, if there's anything in the mix that stands out, or perhaps in the arrangement. Thanks a lot. I wasn’t planning on submitting this officially, but I changed my mind and decided to give it a shot.
  4. Hi! This is my first post here and I feel a bit sorry that it is a rather egoistic post where I show off my own stuff. But I will try to invest some time reviewing other songs too. I started a series of Secret of Mana covers. Sadly it's not suitable for OCRemix because I use the original titles as inspiration for my lyrics and keep those titles. This is part of the concept. I try to imagine the songs of the game as songs for a singer and the titles are hints for the stories the songs want to tell. I also play as much instruments as I can and I hope that I can get some collaborators to play other instruments too or sing some parts for the series. I release the songs on my YouTube channel and make videos with a performance of the song (as I always do with my songs). Feedback is highly appreciated and will be taken seriously.
  5. Hey everyone! We are somewhat new to posting here, but wanted to share our latest track. I've been a long time lurker on OCR, but finally ready to start producing/submitting remixes. This is our first submission, which was submitted a few weeks ago. Would love any thoughts/comments/feedback on the mix! This is a remix of a really short/simple song in Breath of the Wild that plays at the Flight Range in the Hebra region. It's basically a more melancholy/chill take on Revali's theme. I was listening to it in game and got inspired to do a trance remix! I didn't initially think it was good enough to submit, but I showed it to Jewbei, one of my favorite trance remixers who I have been connected with on FB for years, and he liked it and encouraged me to submit and gave me some tips on my mix. So a BIG thanks to him for doing that! We hope it gets accepted, and even if it doesn't we will try again! Anyway, without further ado, here is our remix of "The Flight Range," which we have titled "Take Flight." I hope you like it and welcome any and all feedback and discussion! Also on Soundcloud for better quality: Also, on another note, we are definitely looking to make more remixes, and if anyone wants to collaborate some time, let me know! I play keys (jazz/soul/gospel styles mainly), guitar, and sing, as well as produce with the latest version of FL Studio.
  6. Hello Everyone! As I'm new to this forum, I'd like to start off by posting here something I've recently completed. It's an Orchestral Arrangement of Lake Floria from Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword. Being a classically trained composer, not a mixer, I don't really know if this is the best place to share this kind of music, but as a musician who has orchestrated and provided music for the SotG Concert, I'd like to share some of what I have done/am doing. The link to the Soundcloud page is below. If it's popular, I will post more in the future.
  7. I'd like to submit my recording and arrangement of the final theme from The Adventures of Lolo. It's a kick-ass tune and I've arranged all of the original notes to be played live on the piano. So, in that regard it's extremely conservative. Performing all three voices live and accurately is, I think, innovative. I would like some feedback on the recording quality and mix. I used three mics - 2 Octava 012s in facing left and right inside the piano and a Rode NT5 just outside the piano facing the strings. There is some light compression and reverb. Here is a video of the recording - And here is my version - Thanks for watching and for any feedback! Rob
  8. Hi! Me and some friends from Uni have this neat thing where each of us make VGM remixes every november. I chose a Chrono trigger mix because I'm playing through the game for the first time right now and it's amazing! I've have listened to the soundtrack for the longest time but never got around to playing it until now. I am now looking to see if the song is worthy of being submitted to this site. The song is an attempt att making rock/metal but without guitars and instead having a heavily distorted organ fill in its place. I would appreciate all the feedback. Here is the Remix: Newest updated version here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=12-qkJ2cy7DSHaMHFj3_MBoxhcfR90_eH Here is the Source:
  9. Guitars by @Furorezu and bass by @Furilas Thanks, guys! Feedback on the mixing will be very appreacited. Thanks. REMIX: https://www.dropbox.com/s/doio4d9cm5medj7/GS - Full Moon.mp3?dl=0 SOURCE:
  10. I recently got back to working on this mix and made a few arrangement changes to it in order to not make it feel too stale and add a sense of buildup throughout the entire song. It is a remix of OoT's Saria's Song done in the post-rock style, similar to the style of artists like God is an Astronaut, Explosions in the Sky and If These Trees Could Talk. I'm mainly looking for feedback on the production so far. I haven't mastered, I have mostly done a static volume mix and some EQ work but opinions and suggestions are very much appreciated. Feedback on the arrangement is also welcome. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PEbUKteyUPa4Z_teMUujtYCFx72YUT-x/view?usp=sharing
  11. Hi There! This is my remix of the Theme of Laura (Reprise) from Silent Hill 2. I enjoyed making this one. The original was one of my favorite tracks from the game, and it means a lot to me, so I decided to make a remix! I wanted to put my own spin on it while keeping in touch with the dirty dark feel of the game. Recently submitted this for judging. Hope it goes through! Original: Remix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9s3jegf088btdro/Theme of Laura (Reprise).wav?dl=0
  12. Finally finished my arrangement of "Fragment of Memories" from FF8. Originally created for the FF8 album project here on OCR, but when that got stalled I decided it was too good not to finish it. It also was a great excuse to collab with JoyDreamer and @Chris ~ Amaterasu again Ladies and gentlemen, I give you "Moments". Enjoy!
  13. If Link from Legend of Zelda wrote a love track about Princess Zelda, this would be it! The song is called "Give Me Your Heart Piece" and is about the beauty of Princess Zelda from Link’s perspective. The song is rapped/sung on a hip hop version of the “Great Fairy Fountain” beat created by me and lyrics by me. Give me your heart piece! Hope you enjoy! I have submitted this hopefully its good enough! Listen Here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwSM9LzCGW0BeGJyNFRVbHd1azQ Instrumental: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwSM9LzCGW0BR3ZKY2JMalJ0NDA
  14. I was going for a kind of romantic classical yet mystical vibe.
  15. It's been a while from my last posted mix and I haven't been making new music ever since, so I thought I'd give you a glance of what I'm currently cooking here. Tip: it's popcorn, inside a volcano, with some help from the muddrakes. :} Here's the main source. Here's the secondary source. Totally random timbale sounds <-> corns, the marimba attempts to play like corn, the glock is like the metal from the pan (or so), etc etc. Might sound a bit conservative for now, but I plan to expand on it lots more as I plan to submit it. What do you think?
  16. Here's a track I did for the Robot vs Knight compo a while back. It's a remix of Shovel Knight's track "Strike the Earth" and Megaman 5's track "Mercury". If you ever wanted to hear Shovel Knight recount his thoughts on the world, give it a spin Kudos to Stephen Kelly and Furorezu for collaborating with me on such short notice!
  17. its been a long time since I submitted anything, here goes! Lemme know what ya'll think Definitely still taking feedback if I need to adjust the mix or anything like that Link here: Lyrics here: faster than a hundred thousand million billion miles per hour stronger than a hundred hurricanes from way off shore katamari is my heart, and you , you are my soul you're the only one who makes me feel like i'm whole was there something in the middle of that febuary sky? did the planet change in some way that cant be quantified? did anyone else wake up that wasnt asleep? was anyone listning when the the sound track modulated upward? did anybody else feel crazy on a springtime sunday? was anybody else looking forward to the following monday? nobody else can output half as many lumens .000000001 percent of humans and you're mine in a completely non-possessive way so it is totally fine I would rather not objectify you while i sing but you need to know you know you are my favorite thing thats why I went down down down down to the center of a world rolled with hundred thousand million billion people thats where I found you and I and we and we will be together for approximately ever (and ever) That's not to say you won't be sometimes doing your own thing with out me without me hope you have the finest sundays eating fancy brunch with whomever you get to accompany you to them (to them) just know you are the only person I will always need so drive safe be safe for me ooh... sakura iro no ni giyaka na kisetsu deshita (deshita) duh duh duh duh
  18. submitted this version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/banytvsk34oh6a7/eino_keskitalo-OneMustFall2064-20200516-fc2.mp3?dl=0 -- old wip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/us3m4b7ph6wqd1w/OneMustFall2064-20180418.mp3?dl=0 --- Fairly straightforward version of the OMF2097 title theme. The name (wip?) comes from the fact that this uses some C64 samples, though it doesn't sound that Commodore 64 in the end. Made during the free round of People's Remixing Compo in December. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xrv3ledpslcmwi0/eino_keskitalo-OneMustFall2064-20170617-wip.mp3?dl=0 Not intending to do a ton of more work on the track, but probably the bass mixing needs a good pass, and the very quiet pad might have some harmony issues with long release tails. If you have any feedback, please let me know! Intending to submit soon-ish. Source:
  19. Just something I started on a couple weeks ago. I like the Fear Factory theme from DKC a lot and I've been on an 80s kick lately. I dunno. Could use a bit more variety I suppose? Link to WIP (old, see newest post) Original theme
  20. Hi, everyone. Aside from a few entries on one of the ongoing album projects, It's been too long since I last submitted any remixes to OCRemix. I'm looking to change that. Here is a rough draft of a remix of Midna's Theme and Boss Defeated tracks from Zelda: Twilight Princess: Rough Draft: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7eDlUZW1lSlUyTDg/view?usp=sharing 1st Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7c1pBLThUUldHS2M/view?usp=sharing 2nd Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7bGtwWjlvV1VnWTA/view?usp=sharing Original tracks: A few particular things I'm looking for feedback on are: 1. The transition at 0:42. My aim was to create the feeling of suddenly waking up from a dream, but is the transition too abrupt? 2. Is the arrangement too conservative? 3. From 2:48-3:28 does the mixing get too crowded as more instruments are added? That has been a weakness of mine in past tracks. If there are any other issues with the track, I would most certainly love to hear feedback on them. I know the english horn sounds a bit wonky and I've been working at it to tighten it up, but sometimes it feels like CineWinds has a mind of its own. Thank you for listening!
  21. Hey guys, just submitted something I've been working on for a while. Couldn't get the Rainbow Road theme out of my head so decided it was time to take the guitar to it and do a cover. https://youtu.be/0iFy4PJ35aI
  22. Haven't been here in a while. But here's what I've been working on on and off while in grad school! On one of my other mixposts (Dungeonmans), djpretzel had remarked that Shantae needed some love. I mean... the only mix on the site right now is by the composer himself. That's cool and all, but he needs some company. I checked out the soundtrack to Pirate's Curse, and came across "Scuttle Town"; immediately, I got a mideast glitch hop vibe from it that would be ridiculously fun to build off of, at least for the main groove. Peeking around a bit further, "We Love Burning Town" was more than enough material to work with, bursting with a playful vibe that I couldn't resist (which for some reason is associated with burning a town... playfully?). I started this in January of 2016 (before I started grad school), stitching together Indian Ragas samples from Crypto Cipher to see what would happen. Slowly but surely, a glitch hop backbone came together, held up firmly by Serum and Zebra2, and I managed to finish through the breakdown section by the end of summer, featuring ISW's Bravura and Turkish Oud. I was kinda stuck on what to do next, so I put it to the side while I prepped to go to WSU. The first semester passed by, in which time I was TAing general chemistry, and toughing my way through quantum chemistry and thermodynamics (A- in both, oh yeah!). When I got to winter break, I immediately got the idea for a buildup back to the main drop, and finished the first three minutes so far, but I had to set it aside again for my second semester. I already knew by now that I was going to finish the track eventually... and here I am, not willing to put it off any longer, finishing it up in May of 2017 after one year of grad school! Never has finishing a ReMix been so hard!
