We all know that the Castlevania's musicical roots can be traced back to classical, romantic or possibly even baroque roots but can still easily be mixed into a metal sound. But what genre of metal would you most likely classify the Megaman X series? Other then generic metal the only thing I can think even kind of resembles MMX is Children of Bodom's Powermetal. The X series is just so upbeat that I think it's the upbeatness is what seperates it from most other metal genres. That and obviously being composed by several people at most and not full blown bands. The above videos lyrics aren't necessarily upbeat but the instruments themselves definitely are. I feel like there are probably japanese bands that are inspired by either the X or Castlevania series that I don't know of. Perhaps synthmetal? Sorry if this topic doesn't belong here but I didn't know where else to put it.

Hello Djpretzel and all remixers, Please forgive me if this is not posted in the correct forum. Firstly, thank you for all you have done for the human race by bringing OCREMIX to our lives. Secondly, in the early 2000s, when there was no OCREMIX, there were some remixes that were available online. I have 3 such remixes that are attributed to "Brendan#1" at http://mp3.com/BrendanNumberOn I think it is made by the drummer of Fugazi, Brendan Canty as the group has a song called "Brendan #1." Also, listening to some of there work, it seems like the styles may be similar, but I am not a musician and only one who can appreciate music rather than you and the community of remixers who analyze and create music. Would it be possible to somehow post these remixes to OCREMIX? I think fellow Megaman / Rockman 3 fans would enjoy these remixes. Also, would any of you be able find any means of verifying the true author and giving them credit where it is due? I have mp3 files of these songs, but I made video files to upload to youtube and send to you. Spark Man: https://youtu.be/8TbPXE4RJMU Top Man: https://youtu.be/K0vdqufB32g Snake Man: https://youtu.be/dt5J4XbhSvE Again, humble thanks to all of you from a long time fan. Sincerely, Kagekirazuul

This is a collaboration between myself and Wassup Thunder, which started as playing around with some midis. I can't really claim that we're breaking new ground here, but it was fun to put together a mix of my personal favorite track from Megaman Zero. Made with Soundtrap (free website :S), but we do entertain the idea of making this good enough to submit. Wassup Thunder says: "Just hope to contribute to the underappreciated ost of Megaman Zero. Above all else, it was a crash course XD." Uh, an analysis? Got Crash, Zero's theme, and a little Neo Arcadia thrown in there. And an explody crash noise. Enjoy if you can, gimme feedback if you want! Mayhap some part is good?

Updated Track: OLD POST BELOW Redoing this thread to focus only on one song, original post is in the quote below, I will come back to those tracks when I feel like it. OLD Choke Point Sweep (July/18/2018) F# 145BPM Sharing my latest. Here is a track I made with no goal in mind. Can't quite place it or relate it with anything but it has a lot of lead synth. I don't know where else to share my work for feedback so I am leaving it up to you. its only 3:10 so its short. I'm still fiddling with the equalizer to find the best tones and I think I may be having ear fatigue.

1. work-in-progress Megaman 8 - Wily’s Fortress Stage 1
Drasha posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Hiya! Well here it goes! I was recently playing this game again from childhood and out of all the tracks I chose this one to try to remix. (Death Stage) I don’t have a computer or even speakers at the moment just headphones and I used the Auxy Music Studio app to mix. If anything I hope it’s somewhat enjoyable to listen to and it would be great to receive some advice. : ) Heres the original : https://youtu.be/4tvCfyOoAII Heres the remix: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-whA2-6QyA2yA_IHU_FV2W_ZQbo6ke4D -
Leave any feedback below!

Greetings everyone, this is a short original I am working on experimenting with synths and a live recording of the bass and percussion (Except the drums). The mixing may be a little muddy or too piercing. I would like to get some feedback on what hurts to hear or what could be changed. To be honest I only play bass guitar and will generally work on tracks from other composers. That said, I am always open for collaborators to jump in and throw out the digital doos. Let me know you think and thank you for listening! Draft 1 [9.28.2017]

Here's a track I did for the Robot vs Knight compo a while back. It's a remix of Shovel Knight's track "Strike the Earth" and Megaman 5's track "Mercury". If you ever wanted to hear Shovel Knight recount his thoughts on the world, give it a spin Kudos to Stephen Kelly and Furorezu for collaborating with me on such short notice!

Hello OCR! Long time! I have for you a house remix of the I used sidechaining in this mix for the first time, I would definitely like some reviews/feedback on this mix! Normally I won't work on covers and remixes anymore, but because of the use of new techniques, I am open to suggestions and directions. Thank you in advance, T-Ape

Hey OC Remix folks! We are DrKrake vs Jellyfish. We've been remixing video game music for quite a while (since 2009), but never really felt the itch to submit anything to OC Remix. Instead, we had a short-lived run on Newgrounds and mostly only uploaded our tracks on YouTube on random occasions. For this Christmas, we decided to release all of our stuff in a big free package and did so in the Super Musical Entertainment System! It's a massive collection of 33 tracks spanning various electronic music genres - trance, goa, house, hardstyle, and everything inbetween. You can grab it (for free, of course) on Bandcamp: drkrakevsjellyfish.bandcamp.com Most (but not quite all) tracks are VGM remixes. As a little special for the OC Remix forum, I'd like to list all tracks with their original sources: 147 (Intro) - not a remix, but uses samples from F-Zero X (N64) and Nagano Winter Olympics '98 (N64) Welcome to Marihuana Kart - trancy remix of the Mario/Luigi/Royal Raceway themes from Mario Kart 64 (N64) Voll Auf Stern - short remix of the infamous Starman tune from many many Mario games Fuckin' Party - hardstyle-ish remix based on the Cameroon theme in Super Soccer (SNES) Snowland - trance-ish remix of the Frappe Snowland theme from Mario Kart 64 (N64) Finish Line - trancy remix of the Mario Circuit theme from Super Mario Kart (SNES) Super Club Bros - housy remix of the infamous main theme of Super Mario Bros (NES) Ein Erfolg - short remix of the Level Clear theme from Super Mario Bros (NES) Romanina - trancy remix based on the Romania theme in Super Soccer (SNES), uses Nina's voice sample from Tekken 3 (PSX) Stellungswechsel - short remix of the Change Court theme from Super Tennis (SNES) Tor für Deutschland - football goal theme based on the Ireland (nope, not Germany ) theme in Super Soccer (SNES) Clowns R Funneh - not a VGM remix, but a remix of the Clown College theme from The Simpsons Archives - psytrance-ish remix of the Archives theme from Goldeneye (N64) How High Can You Get? (Level 1) - psychedelic remix of the Level 1 theme from Donkey Kong (Arcade) A - remix of the A theme from Tetris (Gameboy) Halbzeit - short remix of the Half Time theme from Super Soccer (SNES) Viererkette - trancy remix of the Denmark theme from Super Formation Soccer 2 (SNES) Crackman - short remix of the intro theme from Pacman (Arcade) How High Can You Get? (Level 2) - psychedelic remix of the Level 2 theme from Donkey Kong (Arcade) Headin' For Las Vegas - not a VGM remix, original track using samples from the Beavis & Butthead movie Samstag Nacht - not a VGM remix, completely original house track Omnitopia - new beat remix of the Omnitopia theme from Secret Of Evermore (SNES) (no Square Enix samples are being used) Cruisn' Datteln - mostly original house track based on the House Special theme from Cruisn' USA (N64) How High Can You Get? (Level 3) - a... "remix" of the Level 3 theme (yeah, right) from Donkey Kong (Arcade) How High Can You Get? (Level 4) - psychedelic of the Level 4 theme from Donkey Kong (Arcade) Zum Mond - remix of the second moon level theme from Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins (Gameboy) Six Golden Coins - remix of the intro level theme from Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins (Gameboy) Yoshi! - remix of the scoreboard theme from Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island (SNES) The Party Never Ends - remix of the Belgium theme from Super Soccer (SNES) Maverick - fast trancy remix of the theme from Dr. Wily's Castle in Mega Man 2 (Gameboy) Mouse Maze - short remix of the stage 1 theme from the Mouse Maze minigame in Fun 'N' Games (SNES) Sonic The Nitzhog - nitzho-goa-ish remix of the bonus stage theme in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sega Genesis) Endgegner - hardstyle-ish remix of the Bowser battle theme from Super Mario 64 (N64) We hope you enjoy this album and would be happy about any feedback! A very Merry Christmas!

UPDATE: So I'm a liar, I did work on it again... I tried to balance the instruments more, Gave it some variety in the second part, Did my best to improve the sound of the lead instruments and hope I kept the balance/dynamic/drive after the build-up (Most Trap phantasm/factory covers I hear screw that up..). (Why the first video is so big is beyond me...) As Always, T-Ape has a new costume, This time Prometheus his helmet...In Biometal form...I think...Whatever. Enjoy! [Version 1] Here is my Remix of Trap Phantasm. Enjoy. It's finished, I won't be working on it more than I did already. Feedback is always welcome, check the checklist in the top thread. Note: This is my first remix that I made public and definitely not the last. The artwork is made by me, I will make a cosplay for Ape with every remix I make. Second one is almost done.

Hey there Beauty-butts! Any kind of feedback about the track will be appreciated. UPDATE #01: New mix: https://soundcloud.com/atp19xx/watch-your-step-wip UPDATE #02: Another mix! This time, a little bit more color and other stuff in this track. I left the earlier mix there as well for comparison. There's quite a bit of new flavor added, eq'ing and a bit of limiting and I think next phase would be finishing up the track and fine tune some patterns before final touches. At this point I think it would be cool to have those decent monitors to find all the quirks, pops and zaps. Those that I don't have. So, a humble request (and be sure to hammer it down, I'm not soft skinned): ANY. Kind of feedback is more than appreciated. If you have equipment to point out some details, do that. If you have anything to say about this track, do that. "This track is bs!" is not very contributing feedback, though, even if it is feedback of some sort. *grin* UPDATE #03: IT'S FINISHED! Here is the final production of his track. Quality is "only" a mere 192kbps, but I might or might not add a download link for studio quality PCM WAV later. In the mix I decided to eq as much as possible so all I had to do in mastering was basically balancing lows, mids and highs. My oh-so-professional ear might have been playing tricks on me during the production, so it might not be the perfect. To be honest, I might have been using more time in eq and compressor windows than in the mix. Also, this is my first *finished* track in very long time. All I have here in Soundcloud, are only mix-state productions, but I wanted to bring at least one finished track here as well. As a source, I used both original NES track and also Wily Wars version (links below). My arrangement sounds more like original, apart from few different renditions of notation. I mixed both original and modified notation in the end, but first half is dominated by those little changes.
