timaeus222
I have an interesting suggestion. What if (obviously for V6) instead of a Latest ReMixes sidebar on the right, we put it across the top of the page? People tend to look at the top of a page more often than the bottom, so mixes that currently are nearing the bottom of the page may get less recognition, but it seems reasonable to believe that OCR wants approximately equal recognition for the Latest ReMixes. (Or do you think this would draw too much attention away from the Latest Release/Announcements?) Edited November 22, 2013 by timaeus222
YuriTajento
Hey all, I'm trying to post a topic in the Help subforum, but every time I try this I get a notification saying that my message is too short. It's definitely not though, I'm pretty sure it has more than 10 characters. Does anyone know why this is? I'm posting this using Internet Explorer because it won't work in Firefox. Thanks, YT
Liontamer
Dunno why your Firefox is messed up (maybe someone else could offer some insight), but if IE is working for now, post your thread wherever, and we can move it to the correct area. Killjoy
I had this problem, too (running FF26.0) I tried a couple of things and managed to get a post to go through. Testing here to see which one worked . . .
Killjoy
Looks like it was a Noscript issue for me. If you're using a script blocker, allow scripts from yahooapis, that's what fixed it for me
YuriTajento
It's working now! For... some reason? I think it was one of my add-ons. Regardless, thanks guys :
Chernabogue
Whenever I make a research (using the search bar) with the letter "é", I get an error. Don't know if other letters/symbols do the same.

Rexy
I'm probably one of few people who has noticed this, but the OCR forum calendar only goes up to December 2013. So that means at this point it'll no longer direct itself to the current month. I don't think fixing this is a high priority per se, but I should at least let you guys be aware of this
Mirby
Yeah I noticed this last month when trying to check birthdays. The truth is we're now in THE DARKNESS BEYOND TIME look out for TimeDevourers.
qwertymodo
The various pages on this site seem to be quite inconsistent in their handling of trailing forward slashes in the URL. It seems to be consistent for each section of the site, but the sections are inconsistent with each other. For instance, forgetting the slash on a remix page results in a 404 error, but artist profile pages result in a 404 when it's PRESENT. Also, some sections support redirection if all you know is the id of the target, and not the name, such as http://ocremix.org/game/1 (works with or without the slash at the end...), whereas other sections don't redirect but just load the correct page, such as http://ocremix.org/album/1 (doesn't work with a slash) which loads the same as http://ocremix.org/album/1/final-fantasy-vii-voices-of-the-lifestream (also doesn't work with a slash). This is currently making my life a bit miserable trying to get my Android app for the site working... Nase
Minor nitpick: whenever you try to log in to ocremix forums on ipad, there's a 50% chance that your fat fingers will take you to a mascot page instead. Maybe something to keep in mind for the redesign i've read about Otherwise it works pretty well!
djpretzel
Absolutely noted; will be handled in the redesign, and I'll try and handle it BEFORE the redesign. Some minor changes should be going live in the next couple weeks, and if I can work this in, I absolutely will.

Liontamer
Thanks a lot for being so thorough here. Going above and beyond in laying it out definitely helps. Can't promise a quick fix, but djp is looking at getting this working consistently. EDIT (3/24): As of last night, this is now fixed. Thanks again for laying the issues out so well. MindWanderer
After the last VBulletin downtime, I keep having to re-login despite checking Remember Me. The OCR VBulletin cookies expire in 24 hours, so I'm guessing that's the issue.
FenixDown
I've been trying to create a new thread since yesterday and every time I try to post, I get this message: Internal Server ErrorThe server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@ocremix.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I am able sometimes to preview the post successfully, but it requires removing certain parts of the post for some reason. I've revised the length of the post, shortened and condensed some things, but it doesn't seem to be making much difference. So far I'm able to preview this post just fine so I'm assuming it will post for me, but the thread I want to create is still not working.
djpretzel
Very interesting. I experienced something similar using the site's admin backend, which doesn't even use vBulletin. I'm not seeing anything in our Apache logs that suggests the root cause. The post in question - is it very long? Also, what types of things did you have to remove to resolve the issue? FenixDown
The post does have some length to it, maybe about 1,000 characters over the limit when I first tried posting, but I've trimmed the overall size down so it should be under the maximum character limit. But even when I decided to split everything into two posts, while the first one would turn up fine when I click Preview Post, the second half would still give me the error message unless I removed a specific paragraph from it. Unfortunately, I can't post it here without the error popping up, and even if I manually type it word for word opposed to copy/pasting it from googledocs, it makes no difference. The weirdest part is that there does not appear to be anything of note about that one paragraph to suggest why it would cause problems, no formatting aside from bolding and I tried without that as well without success. djpretzel
We've got a ticket open with our host. The problem is related to false positives for SQL injection as processed by mod_security, for you geeks out there. I'll post the mitigation here when I've got news - thanks for the feedback!
