HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!
OC ReMix = 25 YEARS OLD!

4,500 ReMixes later, video game music is STILL an art form!

We've got a celebratory Zeal mix by JSABlixer from the upcoming anniversary album TimeShift, and we'll be doing lots more over the course of the next year to celebrate the creativity and impact of this powerful community!

Thank you to everyone -- past, present, and future -- who have made OverClocked ReMix what it is.

Please share some positive memories on how you discovered OCR, artists and tracks you love (original VGM OR ReMixes), let's go! :-D

I was introduced to the site in 2002 by DarkCecil13 (the younger brother of a high school classmate) and loved the idea immediately.

Two favorite memories of many:

1) Years before I met her IRL, I was in touch with Jillian Aversa via the OC ReMix mIRC server, who swooped in at the last possible minute and scrambled to make gifts out of her debut album for all my groomsmen when my original idea fell through -- the first of many times she's been an incredibly gracious friend for almost half our lives.

2) I tell all my musician students that the ideal client is someone who you'd be happy to record for in exchange for tacos and vodka, but they insist on paying you a little bit of money as they hand you a drink. That person is OA, who is a delight both as a musician and as a fellow consumer of excellent Mexican food.

Happy 25th :D
- I discovered OCR while I was making my Pokemon Crystal walkthrough on YouTube, and I was looking for background music each week. The first song I picked was "Beamsabre Beat ZERO v2" from Shariq. This was like 2009.

- I've been a fan of these artists or become a fan lately (if I didn't list you I just forgot xD):

  1. zircon - intriguing sound design, surprising chord progressions, and crisp production
  2. Joshua Morse - well-established "distinctive sound", exciting arrangements, funky vibe
  3. WillRock - well-established "distinctive sound", shredding solos, nostalgic vibe
  4. Chimpazilla - well-established "distinctive sound", open-minded, friendly personality
  5. Big Giant Circles - clean production, wholesome personality, well-established "distinctive sound"
  6. Juan Medrano - guitar master, nostalgic vibe, clean production
  7. Prince uf Darkness - guitar shredder, clean production, magnum opus orchestrator
  8. J Damashii - crazy arrangements, creative mind, wacky personality
  9. bLiNd - clean production, wholesome personality, EDM master
  10. Sam Dillard - incredible orchestrations, expansive knowledge of dynamics, creative mind

- Here are some of my favorite tracks of all time:

The Unholy Wars (Juan Medrano + Dhsu)

Become Death (J Damashii + me)

Blast Beatdown (zircon + tefnek)

Bleets of Lightning (WillRock)

The God Machine (Vig)

Tropical Paradise - ambient (Big Giant Circles)

Beyond the Glass (Sam Dillard)

Club King Bowser (bLiNd)

There's a Zomboss on my Roof (Chimpazilla + me)

Prancing Dad (Prince uf Darkness)

Fossil Fuels (Joshua Morse)
