  1. Hey everyone! We are somewhat new to posting here, but wanted to share our latest track. I've been a long time lurker on OCR, but finally ready to start producing/submitting remixes. This is our first submission, which was submitted a few weeks ago. Would love any thoughts/comments/feedback on the mix! This is a remix of a really short/simple song in Breath of the Wild that plays at the Flight Range in the Hebra region. It's basically a more melancholy/chill take on Revali's theme. I was listening to it in game and got inspired to do a trance remix! I didn't initially think it
  2. Hello Everyone! As I'm new to this forum, I'd like to start off by posting here something I've recently completed. It's an Orchestral Arrangement of Lake Floria from Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword. Being a classically trained composer, not a mixer, I don't really know if this is the best place to share this kind of music, but as a musician who has orchestrated and provided music for the SotG Concert, I'd like to share some of what I have done/am doing. The link to the Soundcloud page is below. If it's popular, I will post more in the future.
  3. I'd like to submit my recording and arrangement of the final theme from The Adventures of Lolo. It's a kick-ass tune and I've arranged all of the original notes to be played live on the piano. So, in that regard it's extremely conservative. Performing all three voices live and accurately is, I think, innovative. I would like some feedback on the recording quality and mix. I used three mics - 2 Octava 012s in facing left and right inside the piano and a Rode NT5 just outside the piano facing the strings. There is some light compression and reverb. Here is a video of the recording -
  4. Hi! My first post in the workshop. I just finished (I think) some kind of electro-horror-funk-ish remix of the Eerie forests song from the old Amiga game Shadow of the beast. How does it sound to you? Youtube: Here is the original:
  5. I recently got back to working on this mix and made a few arrangement changes to it in order to not make it feel too stale and add a sense of buildup throughout the entire song. It is a remix of OoT's Saria's Song done in the post-rock style, similar to the style of artists like God is an Astronaut, Explosions in the Sky and If These Trees Could Talk. I'm mainly looking for feedback on the production so far. I haven't mastered, I have mostly done a static volume mix and some EQ work but opinions and suggestions are very much appreciated. Feedback on the arrangement is also welcome. https
  6. Hi There! This is my remix of the Theme of Laura (Reprise) from Silent Hill 2. I enjoyed making this one. The original was one of my favorite tracks from the game, and it means a lot to me, so I decided to make a remix! I wanted to put my own spin on it while keeping in touch with the dirty dark feel of the game. Recently submitted this for judging. Hope it goes through! Original: Remix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9s3jegf088btdro/Theme of Laura (Reprise).wav?dl=0
  7. Finally finished my arrangement of "Fragment of Memories" from FF8. Originally created for the FF8 album project here on OCR, but when that got stalled I decided it was too good not to finish it. It also was a great excuse to collab with JoyDreamer and @Chris ~ Amaterasu again Ladies and gentlemen, I give you "Moments". Enjoy!
  8. If Link from Legend of Zelda wrote a love track about Princess Zelda, this would be it! The song is called "Give Me Your Heart Piece" and is about the beauty of Princess Zelda from Link’s perspective. The song is rapped/sung on a hip hop version of the “Great Fairy Fountain” beat created by me and lyrics by me. Give me your heart piece! Hope you enjoy! I have submitted this hopefully its good enough! Listen Here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwSM9LzCGW0BeGJyNFRVbHd1azQ Instrumental: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwSM9LzCGW0BR3ZKY2JMalJ0NDA
  9. It's been a while from my last posted mix and I haven't been making new music ever since, so I thought I'd give you a glance of what I'm currently cooking here. Tip: it's popcorn, inside a volcano, with some help from the muddrakes. :} Here's the main source. Here's the secondary source. Totally random timbale sounds <-> corns, the marimba attempts to play like corn, the glock is like the metal from the pan (or so), etc etc. Might sound a bit conservative for now, but I plan to expand on it lots more as I plan to submit it. What do you think?
  10. Hi, everyone. Aside from a few entries on one of the ongoing album projects, It's been too long since I last submitted any remixes to OCRemix. I'm looking to change that. Here is a rough draft of a remix of Midna's Theme and Boss Defeated tracks from Zelda: Twilight Princess: Rough Draft: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7eDlUZW1lSlUyTDg/view?usp=sharing 1st Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7c1pBLThUUldHS2M/view?usp=sharing 2nd Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7bGtwWjlvV1VnWTA/view?usp=sharing Original tracks:
  11. I was going for a kind of romantic classical yet mystical vibe.
  12. Just something I started on a couple weeks ago. I like the Fear Factory theme from DKC a lot and I've been on an 80s kick lately. I dunno. Could use a bit more variety I suppose? Link to WIP (old, see newest post) Original theme
  13. Here's a track I did for the Robot vs Knight compo a while back. It's a remix of Shovel Knight's track "Strike the Earth" and Megaman 5's track "Mercury". If you ever wanted to hear Shovel Knight recount his thoughts on the world, give it a spin Kudos to Stephen Kelly and Furorezu for collaborating with me on such short notice!
  14. piano arrangement from ff10 : "Daughter of the Summoner" and "Someday the Dream Will End" Enjoy !
  15. Multi-Track Drifting Source: The Final Exam (The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks) Inspiration: F-Zero The original tune was composed by Manaka Kataoka, the lead composer for Breath of the Wild. So why not get some BotW hype started with some lo-fi orchestra hits? Comments welcome!
  16. its been a long time since I submitted anything, here goes! Lemme know what ya'll think Definitely still taking feedback if I need to adjust the mix or anything like that Link here: Lyrics here: faster than a hundred thousand million billion miles per hour stronger than a hundred hurricanes from way off shore katamari is my heart, and you , you are my soul you're the only one who makes me feel like i'm whole was there something in the middle of that febuary sky? did the planet change in some way that cant be quantified? did anyone else wake up that
  17. Hey guys, just submitted something I've been working on for a while. Couldn't get the Rainbow Road theme out of my head so decided it was time to take the guitar to it and do a cover. https://youtu.be/0iFy4PJ35aI
  18. Hey folks, I've been a great fan of this community and its content for more than a decade now. Therefore I'd like to take the chance to thank all the artists who contributed to this site After so many years I thought it's time to bring myself in. Over the past years I've become a huge fan of the synthwave genre. Since I kept listening to VGM since my childhood I thought it might be an interesting approach to merge both genres. I'd call it: VGMwave More recently I finished my first song and would love to contribute it to OCRemix. I was wondering if it's good enough? I'm eagerly a
  19. Haven't been here in a while. But here's what I've been working on on and off while in grad school! On one of my other mixposts (Dungeonmans), djpretzel had remarked that Shantae needed some love. I mean... the only mix on the site right now is by the composer himself. That's cool and all, but he needs some company. I checked out the soundtrack to Pirate's Curse, and came across "Scuttle Town"; immediately, I got a mideast glitch hop vibe from it that would be ridiculously fun to build off of, at least for the main groove. Peeking around a bit further, "We Love Burning Town" was more
  20. I have already submitted this piece but I really, really would love to hear suggestions from other users. I improved the instruments a lot prior to submitting this piece. The game I remixed is Populous released back in 1989. The original piece can be found on Youtube here: The remix of the song can be found on SoundCloud here: Thank you for your time.
  21. I'm terrible at coming up with names for pieces, so if you have any suggestions let me know. Midna's Lament is like the best theme from Twilight Princess in my opinion and it was begging to be orchestrated. This project's been sitting around on my hard drive for a long time as I hit a roadblock at one point, but recently was able to pretty much finish it. It ended up sounding kind of snow or ice-themed. Here is the link (aif) Another link (256kbps mp3 instead) Source
  22. A remix/mashup of Sneakman from the original Jet Set Radio and Fly Like A Butterfly from Jet Set Radio Future. It's primarily a Sneakman remix, but since I added a bunch of samples from Fly Like A Butterfly, and since this style of music is very sample based, I'm calling it a mashup of sorts. Suggestions/criticism appreciated! Also, I did not sample the songs themselves; however, I did use samples used in the songs. I know sampling the song disqualifies a remix but I think this should be fine considering that it's not a direct sample and this type of music is heavily sample-based. Please
  23. I think it's finished. I think I'll submit it to OCRemix today or tomorrow. Edit: Finally submitted, as "Seagull Sonata"
  24. Soundcloud Link This is a remix that is a little different than normal. It took me a little while to think of what to call this. It's somewhat ethereal and surrealist in feel due to the echo, bending, and fading in and out of parts. This is an arrangement of Protoman's Whistle Concert, or the epilogue from Megaman III. I arranged the track for 16 french horns, taking advantage of a 4 octave range from G1-G5. I finished the arrangement fairly quickly and did the recording in about 4 hours, recording all 16 parts in a single session. I then spent about a week editing it. The
  25. Made this little ReMix about a week ago. I was inspired by Django Reinhardt (I added a couple "yeah"s in there, something he did on his track "Minor Swing", and tried to make it sound a bit more vintage) and a similar ReMix by Adrian Holovaty of the Super Mario Bros. 2 Overworld theme. I submitted it a couple of days ago, and I'm wondering what you guys think of it. This is the first thing I've uploaded to this site. Hope this upload works, as it's the first time I've ever done something like this on a forum: I couldn't embed it, so here's a hyperlink instead.
