  1. Hello OcR's, I've made a weird combination of Vampire Killer from Castlevania I with a touch of Beginning (Stage 1) from Castlevania III and synthwave.
  2. this vgm was loosely inspired by the freedom planet series
  3. Hello, wanted to share this Synthwave track i composed a while ago, side chain and delays for extra cheesyness. Hope you guys will enjoy !
  4. Hey, all, so I thought I'd drop these early projects of ours here for you to check out. The first one is called Echosystem, Vol. 1, which was dropped back last year. Mostly leans towards EDM, with plenty touches of ambient and that good ol' retro vibe. https://kronotiqsounds.bandcamp.com/album/echosystem-vol-1 (Here's a SC link for it too) Second one was dropped this year, called the Echowave EP. We're actually working on Echosystem Vol. 2 right now, so this is the in-between project. It's a 5-track EP , and while it's still electronic-focused, we tried to update the energy from the last one with some jazz, hip-hop and drum & bass. https://kronotiqsounds.bandcamp.com/album/echowave-ep Hope you enjoy! Let us know what you think! - ichordic
  5. Hey, all, nice to meet you! First submission on OC Remix, sweetness! We just released a Mighty No. 9 remix on SoundCloud that we wanted to share with you all. I know some of you may feel some sort of way about that particular name, but as with most Mega Man-inspired things, the music was definitely worth remixing! This is based on the main theme song of the game, composed by Manami Matsumae. Hope you dig it! - ichordic
  6. So This is the most recent version. I think it's at a point where I'd consider submitting it. I'd just like to get some final feedback and confirmation. My biggest concern is just that my remix might sound too stiff and mechanical (like as far as the beat and timing). Does it need a bit of humanization? I can't really tell if it does, myself. And if it does, I'm not sure how to go about properly fixing it. Any help at all is appreciated! Sources: http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Mind_of_a_Thief?file=MOTHER_3-_Mind_of_a_Thief http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Going_Alone?file=MOTHER_3-_Going_Alone http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Gentle_Rain?file=MOTHER_3-_Gentle_Rain Older Version Ok, so I've been working on this one for a while, and I like how it's turned out so far. I'd just like to get some advice and criticism regarding stuff the overall sound quality, synth choices, and general composition. I'd really like to submit this for judging sometime, so I want to make sure I've taken care of all the little details to make it good and polished. A couple specific concerns I had involved the drums and synth I used at 2:10. I want to make sure the drums aren't sounding too repetitive and that transitions between sources are smooth enough. The problem with the synth is just preference, really. Does it actually sound good to other people? I like it, personally, but at the same time, I don't know if it fits the mood of the track. Let me know if anything sounds weird. Any feedback is appreciated. 7. Hello again. It's been quite a while since I first posted here, but I've decided to link some of my newer original music. Although I have also made some electronic and chiptune tracks, I have mainly still been writing many short "djent-y" themes, a few of which I will link below. My previous thread is obsolete as the tracks that used to be linked there were WIP versions of very old tracks that I've since uploaded to SoundCloud. Rather than re-post my oldest tracks here, I'm instead sharing some of my most recent music. The mixing quality and compression varies a lot amongst the short metal tracks, as I am still experimenting and learning how to make very heavy music like this sound better (e.g., heavy and aggressive but without being too clean, harsh, or messy). From 5 months ago: For this I tried to make something extremely "evil" and foreboding. Basically a wall of distortion with ominous choirs. From 6 months ago: Inspired by games such as DOOM. Same thing as above: Wall of distortion. No choirs or synths, though. I don't really like the drum samples I used... Within the past week: Use of dissonant, distorted chords. I think the drums in this are better than the drums I used in older stuff. This one has more melodic, slightly less distorted riffs. Making extremely down-tuned bass sound good is the main problem here for me. Thanks for listening! I am always finding ways to improve, but I enjoy making these themes.
  8. Hey guys, I haven't posted anything in a while but I wanted to get some feedback on this remix of mine. I was inspired after hearing the original song and wanted to create a synth version of it. I think it turned out pretty well but I feel like it might be missing the 'epic feel' of the original. Obviously the production quality for League of Legends in much higher but either way I wanted all of your opinions on how I could improve the piece. Thank you so much for listening! The Original song is here:
  9. This is a ReMix of my favorite track from either Vectorman game (though honestly it sounds better without headphones because of that crazy spread). Updated version, 5/28/18: So this turned out pretty experimental, with different field recordings and some game SFX, as well as a long vocal track that I had planned to be a focal point cut down to only the most essential few seconds. I tried to do a bit of experimenting in the mixing as well, with butting high-frequency stuff against lower stuff, and squeezing as much dynamic range as I could out of everything without things becoming too alienating or annoying. It's kinda artsy-fartsy, but more even more fun, I think. The GooDrive link is below the OG. https://drive.google.com/open?id=15OtpmPZX4siS0yVs0iifwMw03OdEhL7b
  10. Here's a new original of mine added to soundcloud. Still have a bit of finalizing to do, but it's one of my favs.
  11. https://soundcloud.com/sawneek/aria-eclipsis-battle-theme Hello! this is a battle theme I've made for a videogame...if anyone want to use it please contact me by PM!
  12. - Artist: Soletik Title: Directional Netlabel: Fusion Cat#: FN_48 Style | Genre: Abstract, Broken Beat, Glitch, IDM Duration: 01:26:11 Released: 22.11.2017 - LISTEN | DLOAD
  13. I played through Super Metroid again recently (I do so frequently in fact) and felt it would be fun to do a sort of dark and industrial remix of the Red Soil Brinstar theme. I'm curious what you guys think, so here's a link to the current WIP version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/339uxzexjjcywmr/Zone Tripper - Crushing Depth (Brinstar Red Remix) master.mp3?dl=0 And of course, the original arrangement: Let me know what you think! I'm worried it stays too close to the original theme and I might have to add some more variations to it, but on the other hand I'm scared of kinda ruining the feel of it if I do...
  14. Here's a couple of songs I finished. I used a couple of Garage Band loops and a bunch of reharmonization. Hopefully I'll make this into a whole album. Mr. Jazz Man (This one's more Daft Punk inspired, funky and electronic) generic electronic track#1 (This one is kinda R&B and electronic) I've got 3 more in the making at the moment but hopefully I'll have 10 or so.
  15. It's been a while from my last posted mix and I haven't been making new music ever since, so I thought I'd give you a glance of what I'm currently cooking here. Tip: it's popcorn, inside a volcano, with some help from the muddrakes. :} Here's the main source. Here's the secondary source. Totally random timbale sounds <-> corns, the marimba attempts to play like corn, the glock is like the metal from the pan (or so), etc etc. Might sound a bit conservative for now, but I plan to expand on it lots more as I plan to submit it. What do you think?
  16. I've been working on a new EP with lots of chiptune elements that will be releasing in December. I thought I'd share a little sample of it. The EP will be a mix of chiptune elements, acoustic piano pieces, ambient electronic music and analog synths. Hope you guys like it! I'll be updating pretty regularly on my channel as we head to release. Hope you all are having a great day!
  17. Here's one I whipped up tonight. I thought I'd give a go at trying a Hans Zimmer-type piece. I don't normally write in this style, but it's fun to try new things and practice weak areas. Enjoy!
  18. Here's a quick rpg theme I recently composed. It is supposed to emulate a scene where the protagonists of the story are reflecting around a campfire and under the stars (hence the sequenced synth at the beginning and the end). All feedback is welcome :D.
  19. Hey all, finished work on my latest album this last weekend. Just thought I'd drop a link here. Check it out!
  20. Hey OC Remix community! I am still improving my production and composition skills with the little time that I dedicate to writing and producing. I am hoping that get some input that will help this remix be appropriate for submission! As a caveat, I do plan on recording a few classical instrument performances (I play the clarinet) and I will humanize the piece a lot when I near completion of the piece. I also have not "master mixed" the piece. However, I think that this piece is coming along nicely. I intended for this piece to mix classical with electronic elements (there are two synths). Phantasy Star IV's music does this well so I wanted to also incorporate that into this remix. I also am mashing two pieces of music into one remix because the first song I chose was a bit thin on length (content). The two pieces have a similar vibe and they are Requiem for Lutz and The Age of Fables. I would consider this approximately 55% done but that's a rough estimate. I don't know how much more can be done exactly but there are a number of ideas floating around in my head (got a head ache). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Download of the remix in progress: http://www.tonalbliss.com/music/displays/truthbetold_4.mp3 The two original tunes I'm basing my mix on on YouTube: https://youtu.be/uH-4DZWv5fI?list=PLirSddeMOYZ5E_9xpoTRYi3ksQmlFPdFL and https://youtu.be/afEQQhQajLE?list=PLirSddeMOYZ5E_9xpoTRYi3ksQmlFPdFL
  21. Hi, everyone. Aside from a few entries on one of the ongoing album projects, It's been too long since I last submitted any remixes to OCRemix. I'm looking to change that. Here is a rough draft of a remix of Midna's Theme and Boss Defeated tracks from Zelda: Twilight Princess: Rough Draft: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7eDlUZW1lSlUyTDg/view?usp=sharing 1st Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7c1pBLThUUldHS2M/view?usp=sharing 2nd Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7bGtwWjlvV1VnWTA/view?usp=sharing Original tracks: A few particular things I'm looking for feedback on are: 1. The transition at 0:42. My aim was to create the feeling of suddenly waking up from a dream, but is the transition too abrupt? 2. Is the arrangement too conservative? 3. From 2:48-3:28 does the mixing get too crowded as more instruments are added? That has been a weakness of mine in past tracks. If there are any other issues with the track, I would most certainly love to hear feedback on them. I know the english horn sounds a bit wonky and I've been working at it to tighten it up, but sometimes it feels like CineWinds has a mind of its own. Thank you for listening!
